I was privileged to travel to Sports Central at Northumbria University in Newcastle with the Loughborough Lightning Academy U19 and U17 teams as they took on Leeds Rhinos (North East) in their England Netball NPL fixtures.

If you haven't watched top level netball and I include the development pathways in that, you are missing out. The action is fast paced, with precision, strength and control and games can turn at any moment.

First up were the U17s, brilliant talent on display from both teams and Loughborough Lightning took the away win 37-61 on the day

Fortunes were turned in the U19 match with the home side taking the win 48-37 in a fiercely contested battle.

It was fantastic netball on display from these talented athletes on both teams, netball has strong roots and a wealth of talent coming through the development pathways.

A proud day for me with my daughter playing for Lightning and my photographing both the matches on the day.

And lets not forget the umpires and officials do a fantastic job of keeping the action flowing.

You can view the full galleries of both matches here: https://www.shoota.uk/galleries/team-sports/netball?ct=3

If you have a match coming up, please do get in touch for your event day photography. You can contact me using the contact form or email me on: [email protected]

Youth sports are more than just games; they are where passion ignites and character takes shape. Capturing these fleeting moments honours not only the action, but the spirit, dedication, and lessons of teamwork and resilience that young athletes carry with them long after the final whistle.
